Many thanks to my truemc friends bindoybomblang (rockyesso) and tsampi for this beautiful song.

Wayne Massey is best known for playing the role of of a pop, country superstar performer Johnny Drummond on the American daytime soap opera One Life To Live. Massey is also known for marrying country music singer Charly McClain, with whom he charted four duets between 1985 and 1986. He released eleven singles of his own, but never reached the Top 40 alone.

As Long As There's Laughter by Gene Cotton

From the Save The Dancer album, "As Long As There's Laughter" by Gene Cotton became one of my favorites right away. The album will be out in CD on Feb 2011.

Many thanks to Wilbert for this song.

As Long As There's Laughter by Gene Cotton Lyrics:

You and I have seen some hard times go by
It's no surprise to see one more
Where's that smile you let me steal
So many times before

Though the world seems darker these days
We've been lucky in so many ways

As long as there's laughter that's shared between us
We can survive any storm
Like the dreamers we are
Our eyes on the stars
We'll get by I know

If we can remember to keep believing
The doubts will take care of themselves
As long as there's laughter
If we should fall
We're alive after all

You and I have seen our share of blue skies
I promise you they'll come again
Light the fire, come lie with me
We'll forget all the rain

Pack away those tears for today
They're a waste of our time anyway

As long as there's laughter that's shared between us
We can survive any storm
Like the dreamers we are
Our eyes on the stars
We'll get by I know

If we can remember to keep believing
The doubts will take care of themselves
As long as there's laughter
If we should fall
We're alive after all

As long as there's laughter
If we should fall
We're alive after all

Here's another beautiful love song from Gene Cotton as posted in YouTube by my very good friend Wilbert (limva123):

Midnight Girl by Christian Vega

"Midnight Girl" by Christian Vega is the only known song by this artist that became popular back home in the 80's. It has little or no information at all. Nothing much is known about its artist as well.

Earlier this year, I got this near mint+ 45 rpm single:

I Belong by Herb Alpert and The TJB

Others may find this song forgettable and boring. However, I find "I Belong" by Herb Alpert and The TJB charming because of its simplicity and lightheartedness.

"I Belong" by Herb Alpert and The TJB is the only track from its album in which you will hear Herb singing. Lani Hall appeared also as his backup singer here. The song is composed by Goran Fristorp and Hal David. At the moment, this is the only album that I know where the song is found:

I Belong by Herb Alpert & The TJB

Why should you be disappointed in me?
If I disagree with your point of view
I don't just exist in your eyes
I also exist in my eyes
And just like a tree it belongs I belong
You never would question a tree
And just like a star it belongs I belong
So why in the world question me?

Whatever I do I'd be faithful to you
Gotta be true to myself as well
I don't just exist in your life
I also exist in my life
And just like the sun it belongs I belong
You never would question a sun
Don't tell me I'm right and don't tell me I'm wrong
Just tell me you care and you'll always be there
To accept me and give me your love

Pollyanna, Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nananana
Pollyanna Pollyanna nana
Polly Pollyanna
Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nanana...

Polly Polly Pollyanna
Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nananana
Pollyanna Pollyanna nana
Polly Pollyanna
Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nanana...

Polly Polly Pollyanna
Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nananana
Pollyanna Pollyanna nana
Polly Pollyanna
Pollyanna
Pollyanna nana nana...

I also exist in my life
And just like a tree it belongs I belong
You never would question a tree
And just like a star it belongs I belong
So why in the world question me?

Anata by Akiko Kosaka

In 1973, the song "Anata" by Akiko Kosaka won the Grand Prix at the 6th Yamaha Popular Song Contest held at Yamaha Resort Tsumagoi in Kakegawa, Shizuoka. For some, this contest was known as the World Popular Song Festival, but among the Japanese, this is officially known as Popcon.

Popcon was shown on TV in the Philippines during that year since one of the famous Pilipino singer and composer, Jose Mari Chan, represented the Philippines with his song "Can We Just Stop And Talk A While".

When I saw the very young Kosaka in the piano singing "Anata", the song has been stuck in my head since then. Even though my friend Roman Santos gave me the mp3 of the song a few years back, I didn't stop looking for the CD containing the song.

Finally, I got the remastered "Anata" by Akiko Kosaka from this CD:

"YOU"
Lyrics & Music by Akiko Kosaka

If I would have built a house
I would have built a small house, I suppose
With big windows and a small door
In the room, there's an old fireplace, too
Deep red roses and white pansies
Beside the puppy is you, you
I want you here with me
That was my dream, you know
My darling, where are you now

Spread out on the blue carpet
We live together, amused and laughing
Outside the house, a boy is playing
And beside that boy is you, you
I want you here with me
That was what both of us wished for, you know
My darling, where are you now

*Then, I'm knitting some lace
Beside me is...beside me is...
You, you...I want you here with me

*Repeat

Many thanks to Roman Santos for helping me find this song.
