From Wikipedia:
Albert West was the lead singer of the early seventies band The Shuffles. In 1973, he left that group to start a solo career. In May, the single "Ginny Come Lately" (a cover of Brian Hyland ) was a hit in the Netherlands, Germany and Austria. In Austria it was three months number 1. This started a solo career, which is mainly characterized by covers of ballads from the sixties, such as "Tell Laura I Love Her" and "Put Your Head On My Shoulder".

In 1975 West took part in the National Song Contest with the song "You And Me", but lost to Teach-In with Ding-A-Dong for the Eurovision win. In September 1976, he had a hit with "Memory of Life" written by Hans Vermeulen . After this he went to his own musical direction, but the following years he had with Hans van Hemert as a producer was with little success. In 1981, it was Martin Duiser, his producer, gave West the single "Do Not Leave Me Out This Summer". In 1984, his manager, Jan Vis, opened his own studio and West scored another hit with "Hot Havanna Nights". He scored a hit as a producer of the Silent Willie BB Band .

West began in 1986 working with several famous English and American artists. Chris Andrews wrote songs for him and after many years he scored Give a little love Show a big hit with Albert Hammond . This artist he released a successful album, Hammond & West, where artists from both old and new numbers are. On the album, West & Friends in 1988 singing old western songs with artists such as Helen Shapiro , Tony Christie and Brian Hyland . The album, after a television special with gold awards.

His 25-year anniversary artists in 1989 he celebrated with an album (25 years), in which old songs were re-recorded, which, among other singers Dana and Claudia Robine cooperate. At the end of that year presented to the West NCRV a number of television programs. In 1993 West scored for the first time since 1986 again a hit with Mockin 'Bird Hill, a song with a TV commercial for an insurance company in the spotlight came. He reached that number in the 24th position, while at the same time the band Roots Syndicate with their version of the same song won first place.
